Crowdfunding in Argentina

The purpose of this work is to understand the present situation of the crowdfunding phenomenon in Argentina and the peculiarities of said model in the country. Argentina is one of the main players in south America were this phenomenon is in constant development and evolution. This is observable by the expansion rate of the number of platforms created, the attention given by the media and even more to the constitution of new regulations with no precedence in the region boosting and motivating the development of this mean of alternative finance. To carry out this undertaking, all the crowdfunding platforms present in Argentina were analysed, focusing on the ones created and managed in Argentina. Several analyses were conducted to identify the main characteristics of each of them, also studying their peculiarities and any other remarkable fact that, in our consideration, had to be discussed. Our study evidenced an incursion from the real estate business into developing crowdfunding platforms to capture non-traditional investors. By the development of these platforms smaller investors, which previously were excluded from this market, now found a way to invest smaller amounts of money than what was normally invested getting in this way a share of the equity or a return for the provision of funds. An unprecedented phenomenon discovered was the agroindustry crowdfunding which began gaining strength in a country strongly dependent on this industry for its economy, but where the small investors did not have the opportunity or knowledge to invest. The crowdfunding in this industry opened the possibility to many increasing investors that consider this alternative mean of finance in this industry a remarkable way to widen their investments. The present work introduces the reader to the crowdfunding environment in Argentina, allowing him to have an insight on the current state of this phenomenon, the trends and future opportunities that this project enables to investors worldwide.

Lo scopo di questo lavoro è comprendere la situazione attuale del fenomeno crowdfunding in Argentina e le peculiarità di quel modello nel paese. L'Argentina è uno dei principali attori in Sud America, questo fenomeno è in costante sviluppo e evoluzione. Questo è osservabile dal tasso di espansione del numero di piattaforme create, dall'attenzione dei media e, ancor di più, alla costituzione di nuovi regolamenti senza precedenti nella regione che stimolano e motivano lo sviluppo di questa media di finanza alternativa. Per realizzare questo impegno, sono state analizzate tutte le piattaforme di crowdfunding presenti in Argentina, concentrandosi su quelle create e gestite in Argentina. Diverse analisi sono state condotte per individuare le caratteristiche principali di ciascuno di essi, anche studiando le loro peculiarità e qualsiasi altro fatto notevole che, a nostro avviso, doveva essere discusso. Il nostro studio ha evidenziato un'incursione dal settore immobiliare allo sviluppo di piattaforme di crowdfunding per catturare gli investitori non tradizionali. Con lo sviluppo di queste piattaforme, gli investitori più piccoli, precedentemente esclusi da questo mercato, hanno ora trovato un modo per investire piccole quantità di denaro rispetto a quanto normalmente investito ottenendo così una quota del patrimonio netto o un rendimento per la fornitura di fondi. Un fenomeno senza precedenti è stato scoperto dal gruppo di agroindustria che ha cominciato a guadagnare forza in un paese fortemente dipendente da questo settore per la sua economia, ma dove i piccoli investitori non hanno avuto l'opportunità o la conoscenza di investire. Il crowdfunding in questo settore ha aperto la possibilità a molti investitori crescenti che considerano questo mezzo alternativo di finanza in questo settore un modo straordinario per allargare i loro investimenti. Il presente lavoro introduce il lettore all'ambiente di crowdfunding in Argentina, permettendogli di conoscere lo stato attuale di questo fenomeno, le tendenze e le opportunità future che questo progetto consente agli investitori a livello mondiale.
