The aim of the thesis is the final development and installation of a rolling bearings monitoring and diagnostics system for a locomotive E464, owned by Trenitalia. The system, partly developed in a previous work, is based on the acquisition of signals from vibration and temperature. The thesis has involved the study of a diagnostic technique, based on the metric of chaos and implemented using the Higuchi’s algorithm, whose output is an indicator of damage. The effectiveness of the indicator was tested by the analysis of experimental data from test rigs and deepening the state of the art. This technique is part of the strategy for the analysis of vibration data from sensors installed, which provides for temporal tracking of the indicator for data classified properly, and signalling the status of bearings as well as the possible damage through control charts.

Abstract
The aim of the thesis is the final development and installation of a rolling bearings monitoring and diagnostics system for a locomotive E464, owned by Trenitalia. The system, partly developed in a previous work, is based on the acquisition of signals from vibration and temperature. The thesis has involved the study of a diagnostic technique, based on the metric of chaos and implemented using the Higuchi’s algorithm, whose output is an indicator of damage. The effectiveness of the indicator was tested by the analysis of experimental data from test rigs and deepening the state of the art. This technique is part of the strategy for the analysis of vibration data from sensors installed, which provides for temporal tracking of the indicator for data classified properly, and signalling the status of bearings as well as the possible damage through control charts.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
