The aim of the project is to study and analyze the efficiency on an inverter used in a wireless charging system for electric vehicles. The work is divided in three steps: in the first part the energy transmission system was modeled, starting from the data obtained experimentally from a structure on a reduced scale, made with the components of an induction cooking plate; afterwards a general procedure for the calculation of the inverter losses was identified, applicable to any device used as a switch. At the end, the previous steps were used to compute the losses and the efficiency of the inverter and the full charging system: through the simulations, it was possible to study the behavior of the system in various working conditions; therefore two different control methods were defined, to achieve the target set at the beginning.

Abstract
The aim of the project is to study and analyze the efficiency on an inverter used in a wireless charging system for electric vehicles. The work is divided in three steps: in the first part the energy transmission system was modeled, starting from the data obtained experimentally from a structure on a reduced scale, made with the components of an induction cooking plate; afterwards a general procedure for the calculation of the inverter losses was identified, applicable to any device used as a switch. At the end, the previous steps were used to compute the losses and the efficiency of the inverter and the full charging system: through the simulations, it was possible to study the behavior of the system in various working conditions; therefore two different control methods were defined, to achieve the target set at the beginning.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
