With the advances in technology and socio-economical development, city grows fast. People have put forward higher requirements upon urban space. In the current trend of extensive construction of urban rail transit, development of underground space has become a hot topic. In the process of urban underground public space development, an overall consideration of ground and underground pedestrian paths design would help to improve the pedestrian environment and solve the traffic conflict between vehicle and pedestrian in the city centre. Therefore, take the opportunity of urban underground public space development to implement the spatial integration with urban pedestrian system, has great practical significance and urgency. This dissertation focuses on integrative design methodology for urban underground public space and urban pedestrian system. First, through field research and questionnaire survey, four aspects of existing problem in urban underground public space and pedestrian system were clarified. Secondly, after investigation of a large number of outstanding examples of urban underground public space development, three different spatial structure types were sorted out. The paper discussed the ways to integrate with the urban pedestrian system according to these different types. Thirdly, through field trip study of the typical design practice of spatial integration of urban underground public space and pedestrian system, three basic development models were summarized, namely: regional linkage, transportation-oriented and functional replacement development model. From regional structure, integrate nodes and ambience, the overall integrated design strategy were proposed respectively. Fourth, for the problems currently facing, from three levels—urban, architectural and integration node, the specific measures of integrative design were studied in the article. In urban design perspective, regional distribution model, integrating node layout and transfer site design was discussed. In the architectural design perspective, four concrete measures were proposed: expand underground public spaces and establish connections with the surrounding buildings; increase the openness of the underground public space; provide mutual function support with the surroundings; and the creation of better comfort of walking paths. Finally, on the basis of the previous studies, preliminary discussion on implementation of the integrated design was made, given the appropriate ways of implementation from the planning, development, design and management levels.

Abstract
Finally, on the basis of the previous studies, preliminary discussion on implementation of the integrated design was made, given the appropriate ways of implementation from the planning, development, design and management levels.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
