Comparative study of the research in the topic of urban quality between China and Italy. Take the study of urban quality's connotation, evaluating method, evaluating indicators and the enhancing method as example

As a key factor of all the countries’ development, urban has always been an important topic of the world’s research field during these years. Urban quality is one of the most important factors of the urban area’s development without any doubt. That is why the Urban Quality research became a hot topic of many countries’ research field. At present, the development stage of Chinese cities gradually transite from high speed development to stable development , so the academic field of our country pay more attention to Urban Quality study these years, related research on this topic increased year after year. However, compared to some developed countries, the Urban Quality study of China started lately, so the research method, content, study perspective, evaluate system and the research depth still need to be improved. The Italian academic field has focus on the urban quality for a long time, in Italy, the research on this topic is very plentiful. In the early 1980’s, there had been many research on the Urban quality improve methods in Italy. Compared with China, in this study, Italy started relatively early, the research foundation is more solid, the results are more abundant. The study object of this study is the Urban Quality study of China and Italy. The key comparison content is the study of Urban Quality's connotation、evaluating method , evaluating indicators and the enhancing method. The research process of this paper is: Firstly, made a literature review of related literature; When theoretical preparation is ready, the study started to elaborate the comparative research background: to compare the urban development history, current situation, management system, quality and other elements which will have an important impact on the study of urban quality. Then I began to compare the most important parts of the two countries’ study, the main part of this study is devided into 4 Chapters : the comparation of the study of Urban Quality's connotation、evaluating method , evaluating indicators and the enhancing method in China and Italy. Each chapter is deveded into 3 sections: The Chinese research, th Italian research, and the difference analysis. The last part is the Conclusion Chapter. This part tried to analyse the reason of these differences in these two countries, and then discussed these differences, summarized the Italian research of urban quality which our country should draw from, to lead Chinese cities develop healthly. The urban development stage of Italy is ahead of China, the Italian urban quality problems today maybe the problems which China will meet in the future. That is why the compraretive study on the research of Urban Quality in China and Italy will be really meaningful to China.
