Abastos Mercato has been forgotten since three years ago which caught in fire and destroyed. A great effort has been started to find proper solutions to change its current condition. The effort is aimed to reintroduce this forgotten Socio-Commercial point for inhabitants and tourists of Reinosa city, to bring a new spirit in its neighborhood, and promoting its qualities by the mutual interaction between the users and the place. This thesis project aims to propose well-studied ideas and solutions for both Abastos Sociocultural centre and Reinosa City to make this center as an interesting node for attracting and gartering people, and for connecting them to other important cultural parts of the city. Meanwhile, thinking sustainable issues have been the main approach of this project. The project starts with comprehensive analysis and studies of the city, strongly taking into consideration constrains, guidelines and all the existing and future potentials of the site within the documents. Following this step results in the detailed understanding of problems and solutions in three scale of urban city, neighborhood and the building. The subsequent parts of the project focus on the architectural design, and technical approaches in achieving sustainability and zero footprint building. It is considered by the tools for testing and evaluating the efficiency of the proposed design. The project sets a compound of strategies and ideas in order to create solutions able to satisfy low energy consumption levels, and to have renewable energy sources. In the last part, the appropriate concrete structural design for the building center is proposed, with the aim of achieving a flexible and lightweight structure, which can be constructed fast and perform an excellent vibrational behavior. The analysis of this thesis project gives a complete understanding of the practical processes which can be employed to get a near-zero-energy building by taking into consideration energy saving strategies, renewable energy sources, and optimization of the building envelope.
