The subject of this thesis is the study of Shape Memory Alloys (SMA), innovative materials increasingly used in important areas such as industrial, automotive and medical. These materials, due to their unique properties are attracting more interest in the micro-mechanical actuation. This thesis presents a possible modelling of the SMA behavior and it proposes a possible use of the material for the actuation of a needle micro-valve. The model proposed for the alloy is implemented in the Modelica language by using the OpenModelica translator and is subsequently validated through experimental data found in the literature. Then all the process design of the device and the implementation of its control are presented in detail. The results of some mass flow rate controls, acting in different operating conditions, are finally reported.

Abstract
The results of some mass flow rate controls, acting in different operating conditions, are finally reported.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
