This thesis aims to provide an analysis on the process of adoption of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) by Italian stakeholders. In particular, the motivations driving the adoption of BIM will be treated; in addition to this, there will be a deep analysis of the stakeholders making the most intense use, the differences between public and private sectors in BIM adoption and the differences between Northern Italy and the rest of the country. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of this new process, a specific analysis is carried out. The main purpose is to identify the benefits achieved and realizable. Following this, a comparison of BIM benefits and project management processes will take place. Barriers to BIM adoption will also be analyzed in depth. They will be identified through an extensive literature research and then evaluated with the Interpretive Structural Modeling methodology, in order to find the relationships between them. To conclude, possible solutions to the problems will be proposed. In order to achieve these objectives, an extensive literature research and direct interviews with industry experts have taken place.

They will be identified through an extensive literature research and then evaluated with the Interpretive Structural Modeling methodology, in order to find the relationships between them. To conclude, possible solutions to the problems will be proposed. In order to achieve these objectives, an extensive literature research and direct interviews with industry experts have taken place.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
