Born and development of a hybrid design studio in Shanghai

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and actualize the entrepreneurial venture creation of Panglossian, the hybrid design studio founded by the authors. In the first part has been explained the research methodology used by the author in the developing of the thesis. Later is argued the skills learned in PSSD background and the opportunity to come in Shanghai, explaining importance of travel in creative and business process. The thesis continues with an attempt to investigate Shanghai reality from different perspectives, towards the identification of market segments of where to perform authors’ skills, achieving an entrepreneurial strategy through the method defined as the Creation Theory in The Promise of Entrepreneuriship as a Field of Research written by Scott Shane and S. Venkataraman. The core of this study is the creation, development and actualization of Panglossian Hybrid Studio. The whole process of creation, from ideas being born, to development and future action planning, is elaborated in this thesis. In this thesis there will be a focus on the business strategy, focusing on the channels and the marketing. It also analyzes how to make projects valuable and effective by integrating experience and service design in business approach.
