The purpose of this work is the discussion and the experimental characterization of an innovative high-current shunt. Compared to a conventional solution, this current transducer has both good dynamic performance and low cost, thanks to its innovative construction. The shunt consists of a stainless steel cylinder having two diagonal holes which permits to accommodate the wires for collecting the voltage drop inside the shunt itself. An analytic expression of its frequency response can be derived starting from the Maxwell’s equations. The frequency response of the transducer will be tested by using an arbitrary current waveform generator which have been specifically developed for the purpose. Finally, the experimental results will be compared with those predicted by using the analytic expression.

Abstract
Finally, the experimental results will be compared with those predicted by using the analytic expression.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
