The thesis is addressed to contribute on the increase use of bicycles in the cities, developing a product that allows performing more comfortably the activity of grocery joining two important social trends: the use of bikes in town and the shopping of fresh products from grocery stores near home. The main aim of the project is to improve the process of shopping using the bicycle as transport, trying to make easier the shopping of food products that for some citizen’s results uncomfortable and impossible to perform using a two-wheel vehicle. Thus, the research is aimed to study the use of the bicycle as mean of transport in the city, the existing accessories to transport food as well as the carried out activities, making use of various studies and surveys, allowing to obtain real information to carry out a brief project linked directly to the users necessities. Finally the brief is defined, where the objective is to use the bicycle for going grocery, developing a bag that can be used as a rolling basket thanks to the use of wheels and a telescopic handle, which will be used as a rack structure to install and uninstall the entire system to the bicycle frame according to the user needs. Allowing a distribution and internal division of food product’s space, to ensure its physical protection and avoid the contact between them, keeping also the approximate temperature at which food products are kept at the supermarket, where temperature controls are still held to avoid breaking the cold chain process. The design process includes the fabrication of prototypes as well as the study of different bicycle types in order to create an easy and fast solution of installation and removal, adaptable to several bicycles according to standard dimensions and existing solutions.
La tesi è indirizzata a contribuire nel aumento di uso delle biciclette nelle città, facendo lo sviluppo di un prodotto che permette di eseguire più comodamente l'attività di fare la spesa, unendo due tendenze sociali: l'uso di biciclette in città e lo shopping di prodotti freschi da negozi alimentari. L'obiettivo principale del progetto è migliorare il processo di acquisto utilizzando la bicicletta come trasporto, cercando di rendere più facile lo shopping di prodotti alimentari che, per alcuni cittadini, risulta scomodo e impossibile da eseguire utilizzando un veicolo a due ruote. Così, la ricerca è rivolta a studiare l'uso della bicicletta come mezzo di trasporto in città, gli accessori esistenti per il trasporto alimentare, facendo uso di vari studi e ricerche, che ci permettano di ottenere informazioni reali per realizzare un brief di progetto collegato direttamente agli utenti. Infine il brief viene definito, dove l'obiettivo è quello di utilizzare la bicicletta per andare in negozi di generi alimentari, sviluppando una borsa che possa essere utilizzata come un “trolley” grazie all'utilizzo delle ruote, e una maniglia telescopica, che verrà utilizzato come una struttura di portapacchi per installare e disinstallare l'intero sistema al telaio della bicicletta secondo i bisogni degli utenti. Consentendo una distribuzione e divisione interna dello spazio, per garantire la protezione fisica ed evitare il contatto tra di loro, mantenendo anche la temperatura approssimativa in cui sono conservati i prodotti al supermercato, dove i controlli di temperatura sono ancora fatti per evitare di interrompere il processo della catena del freddo. Il processo di progettazione comprende la realizzazione di prototipi, nonché lo studio dei tipi di biciclette diverse, al fine di creare una soluzione facile e di veloce installazione e rimozione, adattabile a diverse biciclette secondo dimensioni standard e soluzioni esistenti.
