This paper aims at developing a new Simulation Model for the optimization of performances of the recycling system in the automated warehouses. The Model handles different application’s scenarios according with the specifics of the project. It works with limited buffers capacities, constant input flow and service times approximated to Gaussian Distributions. Moreover the Model allows the management of risks of Blocking and Starving during picking bays activities. The Model is validated both analytical and practical through the implementation to a real-case project in Finder S.p.A. The results are about the elaboration of a procedure for the optimal definition of data for preparing the implementation of the Simulation Model.

Abstract
This paper aims at developing a new Simulation Model for the optimization of performances of the recycling system in the automated warehouses. The Model handles different application’s scenarios according with the specifics of the project. It works with limited buffers capacities, constant input flow and service times approximated to Gaussian Distributions. Moreover the Model allows the management of risks of Blocking and Starving during picking bays activities. The Model is validated both analytical and practical through the implementation to a real-case project in Finder S.p.A. The results are about the elaboration of a procedure for the optimal definition of data for preparing the implementation of the Simulation Model.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
