This work presents the results of numerical analyses performed in order to investigate the seismic response of historical masonry structures. The seismic assessment is carried out analyzing three different types of historical masonry structures with different geometry and properties. The numerical models are developed by using the finite element (FE) technique. All the models are employed to perform modal, non-linear static (pushover) and non-linear dynamic analyses. The main results of the analyses are discussed and compared in terms of engineering parameters, such as displacement, base shear and damage distribution. The influence of some geometrical and mechanical parameters on the seismic response of the different types of masonry structures is also investigated.

Abstract
This work presents the results of numerical analyses performed in order to investigate the seismic response of historical masonry structures. The seismic assessment is carried out analyzing three different types of historical masonry structures with different geometry and properties. The numerical models are developed by using the finite element (FE) technique. All the models are employed to perform modal, non-linear static (pushover) and non-linear dynamic analyses. The main results of the analyses are discussed and compared in terms of engineering parameters, such as displacement, base shear and damage distribution. The influence of some geometrical and mechanical parameters on the seismic response of the different types of masonry structures is also investigated.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
