Between Architecture and Technologies , between Innovation and history the aim of this thesis is to involve the readers in a dynamic trip to discover how is possible to combine the science with the creativity. Respect for the past and respect of the strong identity of a city like berlin are the first elements taken in consideration , which will be integrated with a sustainable approach to ensure the achievement of green house standards. Today the real challenge is how to combine the traditions with the innovation respecting both of them; Berlin is actually the best location to find the right combination. To design a museum requires to follow an integrated process where numerous aspect have to be taken in consideration; starting from a correct urban approach where the connection with the city will be fundamental , we will pass to the architectural design where the creativity will play the fundamental rule of the project. Architecture in last years acquired a different meaning from the past embracing themes like sustainability and technologies; these subjects will actually take a conspicuous part of the work where starting from deep analysis will be possible to show to the readers how the building works and how the architectural process took life. Incorporating different themes we will discover together how is possible to approach to the design of a museum. Which is the meaning of Natural Science and which role should a museum play in relation with this aspect? The natural sciences seek to understand how the world and universe around us works. Now let consider the definition of museum: A building, place, or institution devoted to the acquisition, conservation, study, exhibition, and educational interpretation of objects having scientific, historical, or artistic value. Incorporating these two definition we can understand that the goal of designing a natural science museum is the one to guarantee to the visitors to live an unique experience. Fundamental is therefore the approach and the concept from which the ideas of the design come from. As anticipated particular attention will be given, also, to the technological part where starting from the the study of passive green strategies we will arrive to the definition of a serious of actions with the aim of maximize the energetic gains and achieve the standard of Zero Energy Building. Last but not less important we will dedicate big attentions to the design of the structural part of the building proposing prefabricated solution for the best performance of the building; we can actually anticipate that the dimensions of the building will requires particular attention and adaptive solutions. Abstract

We can now just leave you to discover the Berlin natural science museum.
