Eco-friendly performative resort

Ecofriendly performative resort is a project conceived to be adapted appropriately to local environment. The aim of the project is to provide a temporary shelter integrated with eastern hospitality in order to experience living friendly with pure nature by respecting the environment. Sustainability parameters are applied not only in landscape design but also in building. The original unit can be single or aggregated creating larger spaces, to meet the requirements of couples and families or even becoming exclusive residences for small groups. Throughout different parts of the project, it is aimed to get in touch with the nature and have the experience of the environments such as sea, beach, gardens, etc. This nature could be defined in different scales from only a small plant to big trees. These units have no separate boundaries therefore they can relate better to the nature around them. Another function could be mentioned as a use for a temporary unit for entertainment purpose. This project is based on the energy efficiency ideology and this could be seen in its design, for instance by using methods of recycling water resources by natural process specifically in arid areas, using a vernacular architecture and elements which follow the features of central courtyard in traditional houses. The role of central courtyard in hot and dry architecture can be investigated in different aspects. The vernacular architecture in arid lands is based on saving energy consumption without using the fossil fuels and the design of building is concerning maximum usage of solar energy for cold season. Therefore, different spaces of desert houses are created around the courtyard. In the center of courtyard there is a pool and it is responsible for catching the sunlight during the summer and moderate the air condition and also provide better situation for the existing vegetation in the yard. This pool also plays a significant role to prevent the effects of intensive desert winds. There is great temperature difference between day and night in this climate so that the pool can help to balance this fact effectively. In central courtyards usually there are kinds of plants not only to have an appealing environment but also help to have better climatic conditions with providing shadow and moisture in the yard. Eventually, in our designs we tried to have more innovative versions adapted to today’s situation. In this resort we wanted to experience residing in an eastern atmosphere with saving energy and sustainability and ecofriendly landscape with the taste of Traditional design of the area.
