The old campus of Southeast University has a long history for 115 years with its particular architectural styles and campus atmosphere. The building of Architecture School is located at a axis position of the campus and surrounded by several elegant listed buildings. This project is initiated because a long-term shortage of space at the architecture school and the increasing demand on existing spaces in recent years. As for the reconstruction of the existing building and renovation of the new building volume, the project is more like a dialogue between the old and the new, the static past memory and the dynamic future use, the site environment and the design operation, just like the space evolves during the coexisting of the old and the new, the coherence of the past and the future, the relationship of the environment and the design.
