Splendore e Povertà. Architetture in Iran

The Iranian and Persian architecture, seen in historical perspective but also in the current problems. I limited the theme considering in particular the arid areas. The architecture of the village is in fact strongly marked by the geographical conditions, morphological and climatic conditions, and continues to be so in the present, even if it is poorly regarded. I studied especially the Muslim and Islamic architecture. I have considered the settlements and buildings are the expression of a civilization and a culture that are rooted in the distant past, and how those roots from emerging and should emerge even in modern architecture and in the recent one. The link with this heritage can not be resolved through traditionalist attitudes, as sometimes happens. They must accept the conditions changed greatly and look for continuity in a deeper way. Continuity may indicate the installations typological, but also the general forms of the settlement; It may also cover the language of architecture. Particular attention has been paid to the question of the materials in relation to the geographical contexts and the construction techniques.The research took place from historical point of view from a vast literature in different languages, but also from surveys of buildings, villages and towns. They are being formulated hypotheses of the character project.

l’architettura iraniana e persiana, vista in prospettiva storica ma anche nei problemi attuali. Ho limitato il tema considerando in particolare le zone aride. L’architettura del paese è infatti fortemente segnata dalle condizioni geografiche, morfologiche e climatiche, e continua ad esserlo anche nel presente, anche se ciò è scarsamente considerato. Ho studiato soprattutto l’architettura islamica e mussulmana. Ho considerato come gli insediamenti e gli edifici siano espressione di una civiltà e di una cultura che affondano le loro radici in un passato remoto, e come queste radici affiorino e debbano affiorare anche nell’architettura moderna e in quella recente. Il legame con questa eredità non può essere risolto attraverso atteggiamenti tradizionalisti, come talora accade. Devono accettare delle condizioni profondamente mutate e cercare la continuità in modo più profondo. La continuità può riguardare gli impianti tipologici, ma anche le forme generali dell’insediamento; può inoltre riguardare il linguaggio dell’architettura. Particolare attenzione è stata portata alla questione dei materiali in relazione ai contesti geografici e alle tecniche costruttive.
