Benefici e criticità nello sviluppo di un portale fornitori : il caso di una multinazionale nel settore del consumer goods

Nowadays business competition is no longer company vs. company but between supply chains. In this scenario, a great importance should be given to the Supplier Relationship Management - SRM - and its supporting tools. Out of these tools the supplier portal proves itself to be the best for SRM purposes. This paper reports the experience of my internship in a multinational group in the consumer goods business, as Purchasing dept. person in charge of the cross-group Supplier Portal. The goal is to find and analyze the benefits and critical issues of the implementation of a supplier portal. To do this, in the first part of the paper a review of the literature is provided; in the second part the Group is thoroughly studied to share the context of the project; in the third part, the focus is on how the project was born, its goals and how the project was to be organized, what features were finally implemented and what were the results of the tests made; at the end a proposal of evaluation is provided to understand how the Portal was developed and what its future potential may be.
