Design di un dispositivo portatile per l'ascolto individuale di musica in mobilità

Mobile music listening became popular after walkman invention in 1979, an event that changed the music culture of a generation, today, people that listen to music outside home are increasing, during commuting, waiting and sport. This is happening thanks to two events, first, the spreading of smartphones - that are potential music reproducer always with us - and the rise of music streaming services, that allows to access to library of millions of songs in every place and time. Lots of people use earbuds for listening, but others prefers headphones for their better sound quality and less invasiveness. This kind of headphones has the downside to be less portable. Even if there are some products on the market called “portable”, those are not designed to be easly carried in a pocket, to be brought they need a container like a backpack or a purse.For that reason many users don’t have an alternative to earbuds when they need portability.The “Bendz” are pocket on ears headphones, designed for the users that prefers external headphones over earbuds, and at the same time they need a truly portable product. The easy reducing system is based on the interaction of a headband made out of spring steel and two magnets. Bendz are designed to minimize number of components and assembly to reduce starting costs, in order to be able to start a crowdfunding campaign. The aspect of the product is simple in shape but new for the product category, thought for those users that search for a good integration of the headphone with clothes.

L’ascolto personale di musica in mobilità è un fenomeno divenuto popolare dopo l’invenzione del walkman del 1979 un evento che ha segnato la cultura musicale di una generazione, oggi sempre un maggior numero di persone ascoltano musica fuori casa, durante gli spostamenti quotidiani, le attese e lo sport. Questo anche grazie a due eventi, la diffusione degli smartphones - che sono di fatto un potenziale riproduttore di musica che portiamo sempre con noi - e la nascita di servizi di streaming musicale, che permettono di accedere a cataloghi di milioni di brani gratuitamente in ogni luogo e momento. Molti per l’ascolto di musica utilizzano gli auricolari - piccoli dispositivi che si inseriscono nell’orecchio - ma altri preferiscono le cuffie esterne per la maggior qualità sonora e per la minore invasività. Questa tipologia di dispositivo ha però lo svantaggio di essere poco trasportabile. Anche se esistono prodotti in commercio definiti “portatili”, questi non sono progettati per essere tenuti comodamente in una tasca, quindi per essere trasportate vanno tenute in un contenitore esterno come uno zaino o una borsa. Per questo molti utenti non hanno un’alternativa alle auricolari quando le esigenze di praticità lo richiedono. Il progetto “Bendz” sono delle cuffie supra aurali tascabili, pensate per gli utenti che preferiscono l’ascolto in cuffia ed allo stesso tempo necessitano di un prodotto comodo da trasportare. Il semplice sistema di chiusura si basa sull’interazione tra un archetto in acciaio armonico e dei magneti. Le Bendz sono state progettate minimizzando il numero di componenti e assemblaggi per ridurne i costi iniziali di produzione, rendendolo adatto ad una campagna di crowdfunding. L’aspetto del prodotto è semplice nelle forme ma nuovo rispetto alla tipologia di prodotto, pensato per le esigenze estetiche di un utente che cerca una buona integrazione della cuffia nell’abbigliamento.
