Today the European context is characterized by an increasing attention to the reduction of Energy consumption and waste prevention. We are sure of one thing, the energy consumption demand is very high today and it will rise more and more in the future, so it’s necessary to satisfy this energy demand with a continuous technology improvement. In this context Italy, in advance with respect to European and worldwide scenario, is committed to meet all commitments undertaken to promote sustainable development. All of this is possible by the foundation of the Energy Service Company (ESCo), which give a spontaneous response to the needs of the international market. This paper will regard first the guidelines followed by the ESCo to make an Energy Audit and second to propose solutions in terms of energy efficiency. The first part of this work is regarding all the legal background without that the ESCo cannot operate in the Italian context, as a matter of fact they have to be recognized and certified by the Organization Bureau Veritas. After that we will see where the ESCo is operating, in this case the iron forging and the thermal treatment are the sector of interest of the ESCo Certinergia SRL; it is reported an analysis of the sector in terms of energy consumptions and the state of the art of the technology used. The chapter 4 instead reports a complete Energy Audit done by the ESCo CertiNergia SRL on the society OMV SRL, which is full immersed in the forging and thermal treatment sector, we thank OMV for giving us the permission to report it on the thesis paper. The last part of this paper concerns the dimensioning of an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) to recover thermal energy from the thermal treatment and to convert it into electric energy which will be used on site. We have made an economic analysis of the commercial offer done by the Society ENOGIA for 10 kW of electricity; we have made also the thermodynamic evaluation of the ORC comparing different fluids and finding the best alternative in terms of net electric power produced.

Abstract
We have made an economic analysis of the commercial offer done by the Society ENOGIA for 10 kW of electricity; we have made also the thermodynamic evaluation of the ORC comparing different fluids and finding the best alternative in terms of net electric power produced.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
