ABSTRACT The aim of this work is to create and develop a Business Plan method for a complex Oil&Gas EPC prototype Drilling Rig Project. In particular, the case study is interesting an Italian Drilling Rig Manufacturer: Drillmec S.p.a. The business plan scope of work has to meet Company (Drillmec S.p.a) expectations by performing value proposition and risk analysis, generating execution plan guidelines (EPC Project) and illustrating gains and benefits related to the production launch of the first model of Drilling Rig new generation “AHEAD series”. Nowadays, Company state of the art technology (HH Series) is declining competitiveness due to gained results from worldwide competitor. Drillmec S.p.a. decided to start developing a new evolution of HH Series (AHEAD) in order to: maintaining and increasing competitiveness, cover the same conventional Rig full size range by creating a solid alternative, levering the market by consolidate the success of previous HH Series, OFFSHORE Market achieving. This Project collects and analyses data including but not limited to: market survey, consultants interview, main sector Associations (IADC, ASSOMINERARIA, IEA, OPEC) research, Clients requests survey, Suppliers collaborations, Company Departments proposals analysis and procedures review (Sales, R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Production, Supply Chain, Project Management & Control, Finance, Quality, HSE; HR). The main investigated aspects are values proposition, risk analysis, value delivery, sustainability plan, project execution plan and future development and scenarios. Drillmec Board and Property have strongly encouraged this study to enable Drillmec S.p.a. maintaining achieved competitiveness, enter and/or grade the market and, at the same time, increasing their technical and organizational skills.
