The debate on contemporary hospitality in the city of Milan has served as starting point for the conceptual and strategic design of N-esimo. The project is inserted in the rapidly changing context of Milan, a city in a balance between innovation and tradition. On the one hand the relatively new concept of sharing economy has been analysed; this approach that promotes the sharing of goods, services and resources, and that in Milan is contributing to broaden its social and economical boundaries, offers the main strategic choice: that N-esimo would have been an a-localised and constantly moving object in the city. On the other, the newspaper kioks, a typical and in some ways traditional object in the city, that is now facing a deep crisis, has been the urban element to be juxtaposed by N-esimo. The project offers the opportunity to develop a non-traditional, immediate and dynamic hospitality, more inclined to new ways of living the contemporary city. N-esimo uses the capillarity of the newsstand kiosks as a starting point for the creation of new small spaces for the citizen. The ambition is, on one hand, to create a system of urban elements diffused on the city exploiting the nodal positions of the kiosks in order to satisfy different types of needs, on the other hand is to put the newspaper kiosks under a new light, estabilishing a sinergy between these two entities and granting them a mutual benefit.

Abstract
The ambition is, on one hand, to create a system of urban elements diffused on the city exploiting the nodal positions of the kiosks in order to satisfy different types of needs, on the other hand is to put the newspaper kiosks under a new light, estabilishing a sinergy between these two entities and granting them a mutual benefit.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
