Recupero di una villa Belle Époque a Rio de Janeiro

Over the last ten years the sensitivity towards the building heritage has increased together with the diffusion of advanced technologies. Simultaneously, the Italian sector of building restoration has unexpectedly grown. The aim of our thesis is to present and describe a scheme of intervention for cases of restoration and recovery of protected historical buildings belonging to the local artistic and cultural heritage. In particular, we have taken into consideration the case of an historical building from the beginning of the 18th century, standing in the city of Rio the Janeiro, in Brazil, and protected by the institution of the Brazilian Ministry of culture (IPHAN). Our work shows how to intervene in order to meet the requirements of the client and to preserve the history of the building as well, by starting from a complete analysis of the building itself. In our analysis, we have detected problems of different nature. Some were connected with the inadequate conservation of the building; some were structural. In the end, we have proposed what we have assessed as the most effective solution in terms of costs and security.

Nell'ultimo decennio, la sensibilità nei confronti del nostro patrimonio costruito è cresciuta parallelamente alla diffusione delle tecnologie avanzate, evidenziando una inaspettata crescita del settore italiano del restauro architettonico. Questo elaborato di tesi vuole proporre un metodo e un modello di intervento nel caso di recuperi e restauri di edifici storici protetti dal patrimonio dei beni artistico - culturali locale. Nello specifico viene trattato il caso di un edificio storico di inizi Novecento, in stile Belle Époque, nella città di Rio de Janeiro in Brasile, protetto dall’organo del ministero alla cultura brasiliana (IPHAN). Il lavoro mostra come, partendo da un’analisi completa dell’edificio, è possibile intervenire al fine di rispondere alle esigenze del cliente rispettando la storia dell’edificio. In questo caso sono emersi problemi sia legati ad una mancata manutenzione del fabbricato, sia di natura strutturale. Viene qui proposta la soluzione ritenuta più adeguata in termini di economia e sicurezza.
