Il museo della città di Lucca

Lucca has evolved over time, even though it is a small town, it is in a continuous process of stratification. In the project of the city museum, there are opportunities to investigate and reflect on the changes that took place, but not only on that. The emphasis is overall on the peculiarities of work and production activities, such as craft as industrial, placed in the urban context and in the surrounding area. The museum is also recognized as a reference point and connection in order to have a more conscious use comparison with the others museum realities. This small city-center increases its value and it both looks at itself and opens to the world, in the present as it did in the past.

Nonostante sia una città di piccole dimensioni, Lucca si è evoluta nel corso del tempo, in un continuo processo di stratificazione. Nel progetto per un Museo della città, c’è spazio per l’indagine e la riflessione sui mutamenti avvenuti, ma non solo. Viene, soprattutto, posto l’accento sulla peculiarità del lavoro e delle attività produttive, sia artigianali che industriali, inseriti nel contesto urbano e del territorio circostante. Il Museo si colloca, altresì, come punto di riferimento e di raccordo per la fruizione più consapevole delle realtà museali già presenti. Viene valorizzato al meglio questo piccolo centro che guarda a se stesso, ma anche al mondo, nel presente come nel passato.
