Aim is to design rotor head with swash mechanism for an existing helicopter model which is undergoing research work at Politecnico di Milano. The present model was designed previously with a fixed pitch angle rotor head which restricts the range of research work by limiting the operations of helicopter. By designing rotor hub which makes the model to behave as real time existing helicopters. Designing for the model which is already manufactured is quite challenging as there are many constraints and limitations to be considered. My work is to design and conduct preliminary static and dynamic analysis so that the helicopter model can be upgraded with rotor with swash mechanism which is capable of varying the pitch of the blades at every instance to simulate various flying configurations as hovering, vertical, forward flight.
Lo scopo del seguente lavoro è quello di progettare una nuova testa di rotore dotata di piatto oscillante per un modello di elicottero da galleria del vento già utilizzato al Politecnico di Milano per prove di interazione rotore-ostacolo. Attualmente il modello è dotato solamente di una testa con passo-pala fisso, il che restringe il range di operatività del modello al volo in hovering. Il progetto della nuova testa di rotore è dovuto sottostare a diverse limitazioni di natura strutturale e di ingombro. Il risultato è stato un rotore capace di modificare il sia il passo ciclico che quello collettivo, in modo da simulare anche condizioni di volo avanzato. Il rotore così progetttato è stato sottoposto ad analisi strutturali preliminari sia statiche che dinamiche.
