Design is a complex, often elusive phenomenon that has changed dramatically over time. By adopting different guises, meanings and objectives in different contexts, its elemental role remains the same as an agent of change. As our world is constantly changing, it presents such intimidating challenges for design. Fortunately, some designers strive vigorously in keeping up with those challenges and give new meaning for what it is like to practicing design in a modern economy. I describe these phenomena as Entrepreneurial Designer (ED). What makes ED so particular compare to the other business is because they have successfully come up with a vision that challenging the traditional methodology of doing business toward design as an “object” and practicing field. Distribution, not production, is the key challenge of our time. ED got it right and are able to spot an opportunity to respond to this challenge. The existence of a growing community of ED has proven that entrepreneurship as a skill has become more and more instrumental in practicing design.

Abstract
The existence of a growing community of ED has proven that entrepreneurship as a skill has become more and more instrumental in practicing design.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
