Renovatio. Un progetto per il recupero dei luoghi abbandonati

In Italy there is a very high number of brownfield sites i.e. those spaces that are no longer used for tasks for which they were made and that are waiting to be put into use. Very often these areas create urban voids that are perceived by the population as deprived and dangerous slums, giving a feeling of abandonment by the Community. In addition, the usage of the Italian soil to create new structures is constantly increasing. To overcome such problems, there should be an effort made towards the rehabilitation of areas already built up, rediscovering the Italian territory and studying each of its genus loci,. The influx of tourism should be increased, and a higher value should be given to the activities of the site, while also helping entrepreneurs, since often redevelopment procedures, especially when considering legal issues and remediation, are longer and costlier. Therefore, it has been created a network that offers a database of abandoned areas which can be reclaimed and a team of experts who will assist the client in all phases of planning. To enable the success of the Network, it has been developed a system of online and offline communication, including the planning of a series of workshops with the aim to bring the Horeca and Real Estate sectors in contact with the reality of the Italian abandoned areas.

In Italia è presente un altissimo numero di aree dismesse, ovvero quegli spazi che non sono più usati per le attività per i quali sono stati realizzati e che sono in attesa di utilizzazione. Molto spesso queste aree creano dei vuoti urbani che vengono percepiti dalla popolazione come zone degradate e pericolose, creando anche un senso di abbandono da parte delle istituzioni; inoltre, il consumo di suolo italiano per creare nuove strutture è costantemente in aumento. Per ovviare a questi problemi, è utile iniziare a riqualificare le aree già edificate, riscoprendo il territorio italiano e studiandone ciascun genus loci, incrementando l’afflusso di turismo e dando il giusto valore alle attività del posto, aiutando nel contempo anche gli imprenditori, dal momento che spesso le procedure di riqualificazione, considerando anche gli aspetti legali e sono più lunghe e one. Si è quindi creato un network che offre agli imprenditori un database dei luoghi abbandonati che possono essere riqualificati e un team di esperti che aiuteranno il cliente in tutte le fasi della progettazione. Per permettere il successo del Network, è stata ideata la comunicazione online e offline, comprendendo anche la pianificazione di una serie di workshop con lo scopo di avvicinare i settori Horeca e Real Estate alla realtà delle aree abbandonate italiane.
