The general idea of this dissertation is mostly focused on the two main character of a city; the ecological point of view and structural issue. The main aim is to recognize the relation between these two categories and realize that how they can work together appropriately in a city and reap the benefits of each other. The study area is a small city in Iran, Qazvin. Qazvin is a city of firsts, such that it hosts the first street. Although the city boasts of magnificent history, it is one of the richest cultural and historical cities of the country. In recent decades Qazvin has undergone huge development and causes a lot of problems. For instance, the first idea of the city in the past was like a green loop to surround the city in two levels. First with a garden to prevent the flood into the city and the next level is reaching to the farms. Unfortunately today this loop is broken and the city loses its garden from the north part. In the other hand, the city was working as a cohesion city same as unified garden with a great variety of centrality. Recently not only there is not this garden anymore but also city loses its different centrality as well. Therefore the meaning of the city has been changed totally from green historical city to a non-context city. This character should be returned to the city to maintain and amplify the historical character of the city and have a good connection with its periphery simultaneously. Throughout history, different concepts have left their marks on the city. Their physical traces tell stories about the city as a living organism, stories about the active social life, interaction, and communication. This traces can be substituted by the memory, emotion and beauty which can be inherited from its origin and periphery. Substituting one material for another while retaining the original cartographic lay-out. Therefore the organization and trace remain the same, but the material substitution creates a host of new or alternative possibilities. Consequently, in this research I tried to use weakness of the city and change their material to spread social life into the city and retain the city at it was before, such an allied garden.
