In this thesis we are presenting a new pretreatment for electroless nickel-phosporus coating of magnesium alloys. Many attempts are made with manganese pretreatment or aluminum protective pretreatment, but the best results are obtained by means of properly pretreatments with selected carboxylic acid. It has been done characterization of the coating of the two formulation that properly works one with a low carboxylic acid content and the other with high carboxylic acid content. Chracterization of the deposited layers were performed through microhardness test, wear test, potentionynamic test and salt spray test.
In questa tesi presenteremo un nuovo approccio al pretrattamento del magnesio per la nickelatura. Diversi tentativi sono stati fatti con formulazioni a base di manganese e un protettivo per l’alluminio, ma i migliori risultati sono stati ottenuti impiegando un opportuno acido carbossilico. E’ stata fatta la caratterizzazione del coating deposito ottenuto dalle due formulazioni che hanno dato i migliori risultati: una a basso contenuto di acido carbossilico e l altra ad alto tenore di acido carbossilico in soluzione. La caratterizzazione del deposito è stata fatta per mezzo di test di micordurezza,test di usura e test di corrosione.
