A model driven approach to the design and implementation of smart city based application using IFML

Nowadays, with the huge jump in technological developments and growth of population in urban areas, the need of connectivity and reaching out to information that is useful and needed gained a huge significance. With this requirement, emergence of the term “smart” started to be used for cities to provide better connectivity and thus better services to increase life-quality. Smart city initiatives, allow governments to identify daily life problems of both citizens and visitors of the city, and gave them a chance to create solutions for those problems with the implementation of smart city ideas in various domains. One of the important domains of smart solutions started to be adopted more and more by the governments and private sector providers is “Smart Tourism”. Undeniable importance to country’s economy and its openness to technological innovations makes tourism a perfect field to apply smart ideas. It aims at creating a unique experience for tourists by applying smart solutions in the domain of tourism and fulfilling the needs of tourists throughout the time they spend in the city. This paper takes advantage of the latest developments and investments on smart tourism ideas and aims to enhance the experience for tourists by applying a model driven approach in that domain with the help of “Interaction Flow Modeling Language”.
