Abstract

Europe is facing the world’s biggest refugee crisis since the Second World War, according to data published by UNCHR on 5 November 2015 Germany with 315,150 asylum seekers hosts the highest number of refugee arrivals in Europe. Due to rising number of asylum seekers countries that officially accept refugees need a strategic settlement for dealing with crisis. The basic needs of asylum seekers upon their arrival are shelter , food and occupation, In this proposal we fight against compact massive housing system that creates ghetto-like living conditions with no income and occupation; the goal is to eliminate life in countiner-like shelters or playgrounds where huge number of people are being dis socialized for 4-6 years of non-occupied awaiting period, considering the rising number of refugees in welcoming countries like Germany it is becoming a crisis to deal with settlement of asylum seekers. refugee camps are like quarantine spaces where arrivals are deemed to wait for years to join the new society. People usually feel too much stress and pressure in these circumstances, Socially such conditions can manifest problems for adaptation in new society in close or distant future. The possibility of altering refugee camps into self-sustaining Agroshelter is a valid option that refugees can start working as positive members of economy. The idea is to provide agriculture centers and productive urban farms in the cities that can also act as integration points between new arrivals and hosting society. Self-sustaining Agroshelter proposes a sustainable system that agriculture is the basis of it , natural material produced by agriculture like straw or clay are being used in shelter construction; this is parallel to the existing issue of global warming and eco-friendly material, innovative natural energy solutions for heating and cooling decreases the buildings energy demand to zero, bio waste is offered as an energy resource to provide a limited amount of energy need, refugees in these shelters will be able to run organic food markets and international kitchens.
