Abstract
Spatial segregation in urban environments has always been a result of change in underlying social structures. Complex social relationships in general emerge from prolonged periods of conflict and they are usually followed by drastic change in the social structures. Cities affected by this kind of metamorphosis exhibait highly disorganized structure which is usually a product of spatial segregation. That being said, in a city that is constrained by physical and social segregation will not evolve its urban infrastructure in a natural way. This work tries to compensate for the effect that the complex and interleaved constraints have on its future development by blurring the lines between the parts both in a physical and sociological sense. By making the spatial-physical separation a less pervasive element in an external sense I would like to influence the internal inhabitant’s states of sociological conducts, subtly molding them in a way that is not dependent of the barriers and constraints, therefore creating a more universal humanistic environment. Physical barriers repurposed as a social connecting points will not be seen as barriers anymore but as an integrating element, improving the in connectivity of the city’s main bloodline, the dynamics of its infrastructure.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
