Feeding the landscape with verticality

As the earth evolves due to nature and climate the landscape changes. Thus the future of the landscape needs to be understood and sustained. Since these modifications are gradual, at time we don’t see the effect and importance of understanding and sustaining the landscape we find ourselves in. Over the decades, actions imposed on the urban landscape in our cities have subsequently affected the environment. Strategies and solutions are always being discovered but they are at times intensive and expensive. It is befitting that we don’t repeat past mistakes and sustain our landscapes. Presently, the major cities are dense and suffocating, to reduce the pressure. Major cities try to decentralize and people begin to move to move to the suburbs. If not monitored the landscape of the suburbs also become suffocated with density and pollution without environmental measures. We can sustain our landscapes by understanding and being aware of the strategies that can feed the landscape we find ourselves in and not just taking from it as we have been doing over the years. Building tall is one strategy that can encompass elements in its verticality. Though this takes a lot from the environment it can simultaneously feed the landscape and reduce the foot print. The idea is to take advantage of the new developments to bring about urban renewal. Also to consider the proposals of the Grand Paris Project which is of great influence also because of the hospital and the airport close by. Considering the climate change issues and environmental aspects any new development should follow a sustainable principle. The concept is to redefine a new axe for Villejuif from its historical roots and then to establish a representative place, that becomes a meeting point for the community, a leisure space of social integration and relation with nature. Villejuif has 3 Grand Paris projects and thus there could be a possibility to have the city represented in the Parisian skyline, to promote the identity and tourism. . With this in mind, the strategy is to visually connect the sites in relation to factors such as the height limit and the size of the area. The connection would be made with vertical elements as an answer to solving some density issues as well as the concept of the project with is to create a visual spectrum to make Villejuif part of the Parisian.

Come la terra si evolve a causa della natura e il clima il paesaggio cambia. Così il futuro del paesaggio ha bisogno di essere compreso e sostenuto. Dal momento che queste modifiche sono graduali, al momento non vediamo l'effetto e l'importanza di comprendere e sostenere il paesaggio in cui ci troviamo. Nel corso dei decenni, le azioni imposte al paesaggio urbano delle nostre città hanno successivamente colpito l'ambiente. Strategie e soluzioni sono sempre stati scoperti ma sono a volte intensive e costoso. Si addice di non ripetere gli errori del passato e sostenere i nostri paesaggi. Attualmente, le grandi città sono densi e soffocanti, per ridurre la pressione. Grandi città cercano di decentralizzare e la gente comincia a muoversi verso la periferia. Se non è monitorato il paesaggio della periferia potrebbe diventare soffocato con la densità e l'inquinamento, senza misure ambientali. Siamo in grado di sostenere i nostri paesaggi comprensione e di essere a conoscenza delle strategie che possono alimentare il paesaggio in cui ci troviamo e non solo prendendo da esso come abbiamo fatto nel corso degli anni. Costruendo verso l'alto è una strategia che può comprendere elementi nella sua verticalità.
