Una torre verde per Buenos Aires

The project aims at re-establishing the quality to the area through an accurate process of binding the urban pattern. This also allows to establish a physical continuity among the different parts of the project. The relationship between “Barrio Palermo (in the south) and “Barrio Belgrano” (in the north) is direct, making this area of strategic importance for the correlation between the two aforementioned ones. The study of the guidelines gave the start to a process of breakdown, starting from a white (green) paper, wisely weared away from architectural and non-architectural elements. Here arises the masterplan (and the tower) that supports the territory giving and considering continuity. The integration between the built area and the green area, through crossing paths allows a greater visibility of the whole area. This also allows a higher accessibility to the residential and commercial areas, creating distribution lines that invites the user to discover. These sizeable green areas are separated from the main pedestrian área path, also allowing a free access and performance of relaxing activities. Starting from a careful analysis of the environment, the project aims at re-establishing a strong creative relationship with the location. The diagram structuring the city and the shape of the lines that cut the project area represent the current configuration of the urban area. These elements area overlapping. The sketch of the space acts with layers: the images (green spaces) area overlapping in a way that no one prevails on the other. The relationship among the space, whose overlapping to another system preserves the differences, refuses any integration process but, rater, enables a reciprocal contamination process. Minor and residual spaces emerge and are of an unquestionable quality. The precise deformation of the urban pattern creates a new public building pattern. This operational strategy constitutes a connective fabric of stiching/closure able to heal the wounds of the city and to regenerate the urban space, starting from its own genetic heritage. The flow lines that constitute the relationship system among the main attractive poles of the project area (railway / tram / linear park / tower) defines the form of a unique connective element. It is developed following different directions and crossing different levels, in order to distribute the traffic flows (pedestrian and cycle) toward the aware use of the new space and the connection with the current.

Il progetto nelle sue finalità principali mira a restituire qualità all’area mediante una accurata opera di ricucitura del tessuto stabilendo continuità anche fisiche tra le differenti parti dell’area di progetto. La relazioni con il Barrio di Palermo (a sud) e il Barrio Belgrano (a nord) è diretta, decretando questa area di importanza strategica per la correlazione con le due. Lo studio delle linee guida ha dato inizio ad un processo di scomposizione, che è partito da un foglio bianco (verde), opportunamente eroso da elementi architettonici e non. Ne nasce un masterplan (e una torre) che assiste il territorio, dando continuità e prevedendo continuità. L’integrazione dell’edificato con aree verdi mediante percorsi intersecanti garantisce maggiore visitabilità dell’intera area permettendo un’accessibilità maggiore alle aree residenziali e commerciali, creando linee di distribuzione che invitano l’utente a scoprire, adattandosi secondo esigenze. Queste consistenti aree verdi separate dalla viabilità principale pedonale consentono inoltre una libera fruizione e lo svolgimento di attività di svago e relax. Partendo da un’attenta analisi del contesto il progetto intende ristabilire un forte rapporto di relazione creativa con il luogo. Il diagramma strutturante la città e il disegno delle linee che tagliano la zona di progetto, costituiscono l’attuale configurazione dell’urbano. Questi elementi vengono sovrapposti. Il disegno dello spazio agisce a strati (layer): le immagini (spazi verdi) vengono sovrapposte in modo che nessuna prevalga sull’altra. La relazione tra gli spazi, la cui sovrapposizione ad un altro sistema conserva le differenze, rifiuta qualsiasi processo di perfetta integrazione ma privilegia piuttosto un processo di reciproca contaminazione. Si creano spazi minori, residui, di però indiscutibile qualità. La deformazione puntuale del tessuto della città crea un nuovo tessuto pubblico/edilizio. Questa strategia operativa costituisce un tessuto connettivo di sutura/chiusura capace di rimarginare le ferite della città e rigenerare lo spazio urbano a partire dal suo stesso patrimonio genetico. Le linee di flusso che costituiscono il sistema di relazioni tra i principali poli attrattori dell’area di progetto (ferrovia/tram – parco lineare – torre) definiscono invece il disegno di un elemento connettore unico che si sviluppa ed incrocia più livelli e si taglia secondo più direzioni per distribuire i flussi di traffico (ciclabile e pedonale) verso l’uso consapevole del nuovo spazio, e la connessione con l’esistente.
