Riqualificazione di Piazzale Boschetti a Padova con restauro conservativo di una palazzina liberty e progetto di uno spazio espositivo

This thesis deals with the requalification of Piazzale Boschetti in Padua, an urban emptiness with an industrial and trasportation past, actually it’s used as a parking area, there are also two liberty building protected by the cultural heritage office. After a phase of studying and historical searching, it has been formulated a concet which focuses the project on handicraft, on culture and on the start up. The architectural design shows the reuse of the inner space of the existing building and their link with a new construction used as exhibition space. The external spaces as characterisedby public green, with benches and pavillions. The deepening studying started with the project of conservation of on of the existing building, starting with the geometric survey, the material survey and the damage survey, finishing with the intervenction list. On the same building has been studied the brightness comfort, the acoustic comfort, the thermal enviromental comfort and the structural resistance. The new building has been studied deeply by the structural point of view , by the energy efficiency point of view, and by the constructive details. The conclusion of the thesis is that it’s possible to requalify an area, by studying it’s history and by valorizing the pre existing buildings.

La tesi tratta la riqualificazione di Piazzale Boschetti a Padova, un vuoto urbano della città con un passato industriale e nel settore dei trasporti, attualmente utilizzato come parcheggio pubblico, con due palazzine liberty tutelate dalla soprintendenza. Il punto di partenza è stato un bando di concorso di idee. Dopo una prima fase di analisi urbanistiche e ricerche storiche è stato elaborato un concept che concentra il progetto sull’artigianato, sulla cultura e sulle start up. Il progetto architettonico vede la rifunzionalizzazione degli spazi interni alle palazzine e il loro collegamento con un nuovo edificio, utilizzato come spazio espositivo. Gli spazi esterni sono destinati a verde pubblico, con sedute e padiglioni. La fase di approfondimento prevede il progetto di restauro conservativo di uno dei due edifici, con le tre fasi di rilievo geometrico, materico e del degrado con elenco degli interventi. Sempre sull’edificio restaurato sono stati studiati il comfort luminoso, acustico, il comfort ambientale e la resistenza strutturale. L’edificio di nuova progettazione è stato studiato dal punto di vista strutturale, dell’efficienza energetica, e nei dettagli costruttivi. La conclusione della tesi è che è possibile riqualificare un’area studiando la sua storia e valorizzando le sue preesistenze.
