The “digital age” that we now live in, is undoubtably changing the way we behave and interact. Observing myself and those around me, I have managed to catalogue the causes and consequences, as well as negative effects of the phenomena, while considering the very biological and social nature of humankind. Following and categorizing the online digital behavior and technological innovations of human species’ development from the earliest stages to present day, I’ve drawn attention to patterns that could show the basis and direction for possible future scenarios. Questioning the role of designers in shaping our world, I have proposed a series of universal recommendations, which are to be used when designing new products and services, in order to minimize screen-based solutions.

Abstract
The “digital age” that we now live in, is undoubtably changing the way we behave and interact. Observing myself and those around me, I have managed to catalogue the causes and consequences, as well as negative effects of the phenomena, while considering the very biological and social nature of humankind. Following and categorizing the online digital behavior and technological innovations of human species’ development from the earliest stages to present day, I’ve drawn attention to patterns that could show the basis and direction for possible future scenarios. Questioning the role of designers in shaping our world, I have proposed a series of universal recommendations, which are to be used when designing new products and services, in order to minimize screen-based solutions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
