The innovation in the Service Sector is a topic on which interest is nationally increasing. We witness that is known as Service Revolution, where interconnected services are at the base of interactions among people, products and places; also in economic terms there is a change of the logic of production in companies, which increasingly arouse their interest in final consumers’ needs, by developing new offering of services, with the aim of diversify themselves from their own competitors. In particular, in Italy, where the bedrock of economy is actually made up of the Tertiary Sector and where growing is the common wish, it is necessary to focalize the attention on services’ improvement, making them more efficient and useful both for users and for suppliers. In this context Service Design turns out to be one of the most promising approach. So this degree thesis intends to investigate the link between the Service Sector and Service Design approach, in order to understand how Service Design may support the design and the implementation of innovative, qualified and convenient services, ensuring both users’ satisfaction, suppliers’ needs, and, at a higher and long-term level, an improvement of the Italian Service Sector in social and economical terms. On the base of these preconditions fits Oxerva, a knowledge sharing platform which integrates the two areas and reflects their complementarity and their connection. It is an online platform which creates awareness on the importance of Service Design and it spreads its culture through different levels of analysis and research. On one hand it provides a sectoral framework of Service Design connected to the Service Sector, through the analysis, the understanding and the infovisualization of statistic and economic data that make the complexity of the system easily accessible. On the other hand it promotes the use of Service Design in projects of services, collecting and analysing successful case studies and testimonies, which demonstrate the potentiality and the value of the use of Service Design as a success factor and as an innovation driver both for public and private organizations. Oxerva provides a comprehensive vision of Service Design’s system too, through the creation of an interactive Community for its key players, formed by public and private entities and professionals operating in the Italian Service Design field. Finally, through the organization of events, training moments and consulting services, Oxerva drives the innovation in the field of services using Service Design, by promoting customized solutions in support of single organizations.

Abstract
Finally, through the organization of events, training moments and consulting services, Oxerva drives the innovation in the field of services using Service Design, by promoting customized solutions in support of single organizations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
