The relationship between services and spaces

Services and spaces have a close and inevitable connection between each other yet there is not in-depth and matured study dedicated to the relationship between the two disciplines. At the same time, in the practical situations referring to the existing case studies, the relationship between services and spaces is dynamic and changes from case to case. In the aim of gaining meaningful understanding about the relationship between services and spaces, the research started from exploring the theoretical connection between the two disciplines. And then after a collection of case studies among 9 segments, which were selected based on the close connection to the daily activities as well as the topic of services and spaces, a series of analysis was conducted. The conclusion has been resulted in three clusters, they are the dynamic of service spaces, the impact between services and spaces, and the elements on which the services/spaces value is based.

Nonostante spazi e servizi abbiano una stretta ed inevitabile correlazione non vi è oggi alcuno studio approfondito sulla relazione tra le due discipline. Allo stesso tempo, semplicemente osservando le situazioni ed i casi studi esistenti, si può notare come la relazione tra spazi e servizi sia altamente dinamica e vari da caso a caso. Con l’obiettivo di guadagnare una conoscenza significativa delle relazioni tra spazi e servizi, la ricerca comincia con un’esplorazione delle connessioni teoriche tra le due discipline. Dopo una collezione di casi studio, suddivisi per tipologie di servizi, si è condotta un'analisi sul tipo di relazioni esistenti tra le due discipline. La conclusione di questo studio è risultata legata al dinamismo dei servizi spazi, l’influenza tra servizi e spazi e la definizione degli elementi rappresentativi sui quali è basato il valore dei servizi/spazi.
