In recent years, with the pluralistic and global communication, unisex fashion becomes the public consumption in a unique way , in this thesis will research the unisex history in the fashion system area, how to evolve the male clothing to the female’s dress up, as well as from female to male. ‘Unisex’ means designed or suitable for both sex, there is no distinguishing between male and female and undifferentiated as to sex. During the first World War, some dresses without gender has already appeared. Following the history of fashion, Unisex garments was turned up more frequently in various situations. Because the communication of multi-cultures and the rising of fashion industry , unisex garments become one of the most popular trends all over the world. The style of unisex clothing always with a simple and personalized aesthetic needs in the modern society . So as a special kind of clothing style, in this thesis will study the phenomenon of unisex garments, to study in the sociology way which causes the development of unisex. Neutral apparel changes men and women’s social relationships. In order to explore the affect of unisex apparel in the fashion system, include of films, models, rock singers etc. In the conclusion to the point that unisex clothing is a result of development of social consciousness . Nowadays unisex dress style represents a unique charm. It is also one of the trends in the future, through the deep analysis about design styles and design features for the unisex garments, it can provide a right theoretical basis direction for the unisex garments design in the future. Through the analysis about the evolution of unisex history, to help fashion designers use unisex elements to the different kinds of fashion design styles. It is useful to expand designers' horizon and have more creative thoughts.
