This thesis is based on a reflection on sound and on audio signal recognition technologies. This area of research aims to recreate the functioning of the human auditory system, especially the ability to identify different sounds within a continuous acoustic flux. Over time, this technology has been applied to various aspects of everyday life, with a primary focus on voice recognition. The sound universe does not include only the sounds produced by human beings, but also those belonging to the worlds of geophysics and bioacoustics. This study centres on the latter, and aims to exploit sound recognition to detect and monitor the presence of a specific species of insects affecting agricultural production – thus connecting with the field of precision agriculture.

Abstract
This thesis is based on a reflection on sound and on audio signal recognition technologies. This area of research aims to recreate the functioning of the human auditory system, especially the ability to identify different sounds within a continuous acoustic flux. Over time, this technology has been applied to various aspects of everyday life, with a primary focus on voice recognition. The sound universe does not include only the sounds produced by human beings, but also those belonging to the worlds of geophysics and bioacoustics. This study centres on the latter, and aims to exploit sound recognition to detect and monitor the presence of a specific species of insects affecting agricultural production – thus connecting with the field of precision agriculture.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
