This article has as topic the principle of maximum entropy production rate applied to the description of the phenomenon of uniform corrosion. The surface of the metal that corrodes is considered as a collection of micro cells that move on it randomly. The theory makes it possible to calculate both the anodic and cathodic areas ratio, corrosion current, assuming both the polarization concentration () and ohmic falls ( ) are neglectable. Is present a comparison between the experimental data and the theoretical model of zinc and iron immersed in an hydrochloridric acid solution.

Abstract
This article has as topic the principle of maximum entropy production rate applied to the description of the phenomenon of uniform corrosion. The surface of the metal that corrodes is considered as a collection of micro cells that move on it randomly. The theory makes it possible to calculate both the anodic and cathodic areas ratio, corrosion current, assuming both the polarization concentration () and ohmic falls ( ) are neglectable. Is present a comparison between the experimental data and the theoretical model of zinc and iron immersed in an hydrochloridric acid solution.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
