The management of the supply chain risks is one of the most interesting challenge in the managers’ and companies’ agendas. Nowadays the competitive business arena is characterized by strong turbulences, demand uncertainty, product life-cycle reduction and globalization which bring competition from the business organization level to the supply chain. The purpose of this work is to build a Decision Support System which could help a firm to manage the risks and their potential impacts coming from their business. The proposed DSS is an instrument which selects the best mitigation measures by a quantitative approach. The first phase of the research framework is the selection of the applicable risks to the supply chain and/or the product under study. These risks are measured in three different scenarios (optimistic, most probable and negative), in terms of probability of occurrence and negative impact in terms of costs. Then, some mitigation measures to mitigate these risks are identified via a both qualitative and quantitative approach. A budget is so identified for every mitigation measure. The last part of the decision framework is the application of a DSS which identifies the best combination of mitigation measures. The risk profile minimisation and the budget respect represent the constraints of the tool. Finally, the usefulness of the tool proposed is shown by the application of the support system to the case of AD Tubi Inossidabili SPA, a manufacturer and distributor of welded tubes.
Infine, l’utilità dello strumento è dimostrata tramite l’applicazione dello stesso all’azienda “Tubi Inossidabili SPA”, industria che produce principalmente tubi saldati.

Abstract
Finally, the usefulness of the tool proposed is shown by the application of the support system to the case of AD Tubi Inossidabili SPA, a manufacturer and distributor of welded tubes.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
