The adoption of resilient approaches to solve problems in complex systems is becoming more and more common. Even in the school environment, to improve the quality of strategies and actions in management and maintenance of the building stock, some are increasingly considering resilient approaches. This approach considers educational space as "civic bases" in which to involve subjects who may interact with the school and gives to the school-setting system a central role, where to co-evolve formative, socio-economic, territorial, environmental and technical factors. This results in the integration of use and maintenance of school facilities with interventions for the renovation of the surrounding urban areas, with the involvement of the school and local community. From such assumptions, in the thesis work, school facilities are presented and approached in the form of spaces where not only do lectures take place, but also they are adequate to host a given neighborhood's educational and socio-cultural activities. Thereby there is a need to rethink maintenance and requalification, due to the interconnections with potential multi-purpose spaces. Within this stream, the renovation of the school heritage will be pinpointed to be a major driver to the development of common space's changing habits and shared solutions to maintaining structures in the context of mutable users and needs. Interventions approaches should therefore engage teachers, students, families, and citizen-users, and build a dialogue between educational and formative activities, civic experiences, collective resources safeguard, and community's sharing activities. This thesis will thus propose innovative models for the maintenance of school buildings, in terms of interventions and, in particular, of broad participation to those activities.

Abstract
This thesis will thus propose innovative models for the maintenance of school buildings, in terms of interventions and, in particular, of broad participation to those activities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
