Nuovi blocchi urbani a Milano. Progetto per l'area della Caserma Montello

This thesis introduce a project of new urban blocks in Milan for the area of Caserma Montello and introduce the furthuer study of a type of housing that seamlessly integration with the character of urban blocks. The Caserma Montello, was built in 1910, now an abeandoned area. At the same time, is has been part of a strongly consolidated urban fabric. The goal of the project includes the deep study of the urban block characters, and the residential neighborhood and its public spaces in the city's urban circumstance. The project aims to address a study of the multiplicity and complexity use of tipycal living element in the contemporary city. The project also involves the creation of two new residential areas. The project introduce a series of courtyard houses and line house and a public space which provieds a functional system in ordor to foster the permeability and usability for the site and the entire neighborhood. Through the design of existing area and the study of the typical courtyard house, it is possible for us to draw a new urban area for the Caserma Montello, it can also become an importante assembled element for the connection of the urban fabric.

La tesi propone un progetto di nuovi blocchi urbani a Milano per l’area della Caserma Montello e lo studio dettagliato di una tipologia abitativa in grado di integrarsi con il carattere urbano dell'isolato proposto. La Caserma Montello, costruita nel 1910, si trova oggi in stato di abbandono, nonostante sia parte di un tessuto urbano fortemente consolidato. L’obiettivo del progetto è lo studio e l'approfondimento dei caratteri del blocco urbano, integrando il quartiere residenziale e i suoi spazi pubblici nel tessuto urbano della città. Il progetto intende affrontare e studiare la molteplicità di usi e la complessità delle forme dell'abitare nella città contemporanea. Il progetto prevede la realizzazione di due nuovi quartieri residenziali composti da case a corte ed edifici in linea e di un sistema di spazi e funzioni di interesse pubblico che favoriranno la permeabilità e la fruibilità del luogo a tutto il quartiere. Attraverso il ridisegno dei quartieri esistenti e lo studio tipologico della casa a corte, si configura una nuova centralità urbana per la Caserma Montello, in grado di tornare ad essrere elemento di unione e relazione con il tessuto urbano.
