Riscoprire l'identità celata di Spargi. Un percorso sensoriale e la sovrapposizione di nuovi significati

The thesis project proposes a new definition of the aspects that characterize the island of Spargi, a place where nature seems to want to reassume the traces of man's presence: a place now exclusively animated by seaside tourism. The thesis therefore aims to make clear those peculiarities that are not immediately perceptible by the hasty visitor. Distinguishing the island is first and foremost the richness of flora, fauna and what remains of military batteries built at the beginning of the twentieth century with naval and anti-aircraft defense functions, and perfectly camouflaged in the rocky nature of the site. The project is part of this reality by proposing a network of relations in the territory; It suggests new reading keys that favor more directly the perception of its more hidden aspects. The design proposals reestablish the relationship between the parties and suggest a path leading to points of most landscape interest and the ancient military presence. All this is produced in a very precise but contentious field of action, which implies the essence of materials and languages. The volumes, shapes and spaces adjust to the nature of the place, avoiding to overwhelm it. They help to characterize the scenery of the island but at the same time respect their suggestions and perceptions

Il progetto di tesi propone una nuova definizione degli aspetti che caratterizzano l’isola di Spargi, un luogo in cui la natura sembra voler riassorbire le tracce della presenza dell’uomo: un luogo oggi esclusivamente animato dal turismo balneare. La tesi si pone quindi l’obiettivo di rendere evidenti quelle peculiarità che non sono immediatamente percepibili dal visitatore affrettato. A contraddistinguere l’isola sono innanzitutto la ricchezza della flora, della fauna e ciò che rimane delle batterie militari realizzate agli inizi del Novecento con funzioni di difesa navale e antiaerea, e mimetizzate perfettamente nella natura rocciosa del luogo. Il progetto si inserisce in questa realtà proponendo una rete di relazioni nel territorio; suggerisce nuove chiavi di lettura che favoriscano in maniera più diretta la percezione dei suoi aspetti più celati. Le proposte progettuali ristabiliscono le relazioni tra le parti e suggeriscono un percorso che conduce nei punti di maggior interesse paesistico e dell’antica presenza militare. Tutto questo si produce in un campo d’azione molto preciso ma contenuto, che impone essenzialità dei materiali e dei linguaggi. I volumi, le forme e gli spazi si adeguano alla natura del luogo evitando di prevaricarlo. Aiutano a connotare gli scenari dell’isola ma nello stesso tempo ne rispettano le suggestioni e la loro percezione.
