Vulnerabilità sismica di alcuni edifici del patrimonio architettonico della città di Mantova

The focus of the proposed work focuses on the analysis of the seismic vulnerability of seven buildings of a certain architectural and historical prestige located in the city of Mantua and which play a very important role in the historical and cultural landscape of the city. The analysis of the selected buildings was carried out through a first long research phase that led to the finding of useful material for the tridimensional elaboration of the buindings, carried out using the "Abaqus" software. The objective was to examine the behavior of the buildings studied when subjected to seismic action, thus detecting the mechanisms of damage in relation to the structural characteristics and the geometric configuration of the buildings. The analysis made it possible to extract the useful data for the elaboration of a series of graphs that were able to outline the seismic response of each building, even from a numerical point of view. In this way, it was possible to identify the critical elements of each building and thus correlate the results obtained with the damage actually suffered by the structures studied following the earthquake of 20 and 29 May 2012.

Il fulcro del lavoro proposto si concentra sull’analisi della vulnerabilità sismica di sette edifici di un certo prestigio architettonico e storico situati nella città di Mantova e che rivestono un ruolo molto importante nello scenario storico e culturale della città. L’analisi degli edifici scelti è stata condotta grazie a una prima lunga fase di ricerca che ha portato al reperimento di materiale utile all’elaborazione tridimensionale dei manufatti, eseguita tramite l’utilizzo del software “Abaqus”. L’obiettivo è stato quello di esaminare il comportamento degli edifici studiati se sottoposti ad azione sismica, individuando così i meccanismi di danno in relazione alle caratteristiche strutturali e alla configurazione geometrica dei manufatti. L’analisi ha permesso di estrarre i dati utili all’elaborazione di una serie di grafici che hanno potuto delineare, anche dal punto di vista numerico, la risposta sismica di ogni manufatto. In questo modo è stato possibile individuare quali fossero gli elementi critici di ogni edificio e correlare così i risultati ottenuti con i danni realmente subiti dalle strutture studiate a seguito del terremoto del 20 e 29 maggio 2012.
