Owing to the significant publications on design thinking; it has become a great trend a mong organizations recently. However, what is not known is if business people can integrate this approach into their actual system and get effective results. The primary goal of this study is to picture “The understanding and applications of design thinking today in large enterprises located in Northern Italy” through viewpoints of consultants, designers, and practitioners from the field. To frame the situation of design thinking inside large enterprises including interactions with business consultancies and design firms; an extensive desk research and a series of interviews have been carried out with different stakeholders from the field in Italy. The final analysis is presented in visual and written forms under relevant topics of perception, contextual factors, effectiveness, challenges, remedies, how might we, and future predictions. Finally, personal notes with open questions are discussed.
A causa delle numerose pubblicazioni sul Design Thinking, recentemente quest’ultimo è diventato di grande tendenza tra le organizzazioni. Tuttavia, ciò che non è noto è se si possa effettivamente integrare questo approccio nei sistemi più tradizionali, ottenendo risultati efficaci. L’obiettivo primario di questo studio è rappresentare “La comprensione e l’applicazione del Design Thinking al giorno d’oggi nelle grandi imprese dell’Italia settentrionale” attraverso il punto di vista di consulenti, designers e altri professionisti del settore. Al fine di definire la situazione del Design Thinking all’interno delle grandi imprese, tra cui le interazioni con agenzie di consulenza e imprese di design, è stata condotta una ricerca più ampia (desk research) unitamente a una serie di interviste con diversi stakeholder del settore in Italia. L’analisi finale è presentata in forme visive e testuali in riferimento a temi quali il contesto, la percezione generale della metodologia, la sua efficacia, le sfide principali, i rimedi, il metodo dell’How Might We e alcune previsioni future. Infine, vengono discussi commenti personali con domande aperte.
