Fero : una storia sul telaio. Re-design di un antico strumento per la valorizzazione e attualizzazione della pratica artigianale del ricamo

The art of hand embroidery is a craft that has in itself the charm of the ancient, the history, the tradition, but it is often associated with something outdated, for which it is not worth investing time and energy, laced To a past culture that has nothing to tell. This trade, in particular sectors and contexts, is burdened by contemporaries, research and experimentation, intended not to be lost but to be handed down. In addition, as an artistic gesture of great work, it is rich in content to be talked about and communicated. These preambles have favored the genesis of a project aimed at enriching the field of design for the valorisation of art crafts. The aim is therefore to shape a product dedicated to the professional embroiderer and to all those who experiment with this art in search of new compositing modes. The product that starts from the redesign of the designer's workplane is therefore a multi-part system that together helps the craftsman in the creative and generating process of the idea. At the same time, in a few steps, the system can perform the exhibition function by helping the user to enter into the artistic process that led the embroiderer to the realization of that champion and favor and emphasize the narration. The peculiarity of the product is just to enclose in one object these two intentions and functions: - be supportive in the generative phase of an embroidery, in some didactic disciplines also providing a basic method for creative processing of a test sample; - being, at the same time, an exhibition, evocative and narrative instrument of an embroidery that comes not only for its beauty, estro and quality, but also through the narration of the creative process that generated it.

L’arte del ricamo a mano è un mestiere che ha in sé il fascino dell’antico, della storia, della tradizione, ma spesso viene associato a qualcosa di superato, per il quale non vale la pena investire tempo ed energie, le- gato ad una cultura passata che non ha più nulla da raccontare. Questo mestiere invece, in particolari settori e contesti, è carico di contempo- raneità, ricerca e sperimentazione, intenti che non vanno perduti bensì tramandati. Inoltre, in quanto gesto artistico frutto di un grande lavoro, è ricco di contenuti da raccontare e comunicare. Questi preamboli hanno favorito la genesi di un progetto volto ad ar- ricchire l’ambito del design per la valorizzazione dei mestieri d’arte. L’o- biettivo è dunque quello di plasmare un prodotto dedicato al ricamatore professionista e a tutti coloro che con estro sperimentano quest’arte alla ricerca di nuove modalità compositive. Il prodotto che parte dalla riprogettazione del piano di lavoro del ri- camatore, si presenta dunque come un sistema composto da più parti che insieme aiutano l’artigiano nel processo creativo e generativo dell’ idea. Allo stesso tempo, in pochi passaggi, il sistema, può assolvere alla funzione espositiva aiutando il fruitore ad entrare nel processo artistico che ha portato il ricamatore alla realizzazione di quel campione e ne favorisce ed enfatizza la narrazione. La peculiarità del prodotto è proprio quella di racchiudere in un unico oggetto questi due intenti e funzioni: - essere di supporto nella fase generativa di un ricamo, in alcuni conte- sti didattici anche fornendo una metodologia di base per l’elaborazione creativa di un campione di prova; -essere, allo stesso tempo strumento espositivo, evocativo e narrativo di un ricamo che arriva non solo per la sua bellezza, estro e qualità, ma anche attraverso la narrazione del processo creativo che lo ha generato.
