Fluid dynamics studies in complex domains such as hollow fiber bundles used in biomedical devices is often dealt with by means of computational fluid dynamic techniques, through the homogenization method given by the porous media model. In this paper the limitations of this approach to complex fluid dynamic domains are discussed. An alternative method, the fictitious domain method, is also proposed to study fluididynamics on simpler geometries.
Lo studio della fluido dinamica in domini complessi quali i bundle di fibre cave utilizzati nei dispositivi biomedici viene spesso affrontato per mezzo di tecniche di fluido-dinamica computazionale, attraverso il metodo di omogenizzazione dato dal modello a mezzo poroso. In questo lavoro le limitazioni di tale approccio a domini fluido dinamici complessi sono discusse. Viene inoltre proposto come metodo alternativo, il fictitious domain method al fine di studiare su geometrie più semplificate le fluidodinamica.
