Material Driven Design is playing an increasingly prom- inent role in the product design for innovation. More and more projects are focusing on transforming waste material into novel materials, in an upcycling manner. In the European Union, the amount of textile waste is estimated to be 5.8 million tons annually, the predomi- nant treatments are incineration and landfill along with Municipal Solid Waste, which release a large amount of greenhouse gases. In this case, the problem of how to make reuse of textile waste appears. This paper has introduced a new material transformed from textile rags and egg packages - Mjuktong, as well as one possible upcycling system - Texcreting Process by the means of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) material design. The process is an individual self-production practice happening in the Mjuktong Craftsmanship Store.

Abstract
The process is an individual self-production practice happening in the Mjuktong Craftsmanship Store.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
